Continuing the Conversation

Embarking on the journey of reading through the Bible in a year is exciting and deeply rewarding. But with 66 books spanning thousands of years of history, wisdom, poetry, prophecy, and letters, there can be a lot to absorb. What if there were a way to make reading through the Bible easier to navigate, richer, and more engaging?

The Chronological Bible Journey podcast is a daily podcast produced by Bellevue that can transform your year-long journey of reading the Chronological Bible into something more interactive and insightful. Tune in every day to hear Pastors Derek Ewalt, Noah Sidhom, Ben Taylor, and Michael Pritchard elaborate on the themes seen throughout Scripture so you can better understand the whole story of God’s Word one day at a time.

When studying the Bible, understanding its historical sequence makes a profound difference. Most Bible reading plans follow a traditional structure, going through the books in the order they appear in the Bible, but that doesn’t always reflect the historical timeline of events. By experiencing God’s Word through the Chronological Bible, you can follow the timeline of events as they unfold in Scripture. The Chronological Bible Journey podcast enhances this experience by providing daily insights into the historical context surrounding each biblical passage.

“The point of the podcast isn’t to just add more noise or content to an already busy world but to point people to their Bible reading and hopefully get them more engaged with God’s Word,” Creative Arts Pastor Noah Sidhom said. “To have voices of people you trust and people who you know are reading the same exact thing as you, I think is a helpful thing to know you’re not alone in what you are reading.”

“This podcast keeps you up-to-date with where you are in your reading, and it keeps you accountable, which is a huge thing when it comes to something as big as reading through the Chronological Bible in a year,” Derek, Pastor of Bellevue Men and Teaching, said.

One of the hardest parts about any Bible reading plan is maintaining consistency. It’s easy to get off track, especially when life gets busy or you come across difficult passages that feel hard to understand. Both Noah and Derek hope that by continuing the conversation outside of Sunday morning sermons and Life Groups through the podcast, people will not only stay engaged with the daily Bible readings but also be excited to know more.

“What’s cool about this podcast is that by discussing the daily Chronological Bible readings with one another, you can learn so much from what God is teaching you, and you can learn so much from what God is teaching others,” Noah said.

“I believe the Lord designed us to grow in His Word together,” Derek said. “When you look at the early church, they did everything together; they ate together, they worshiped together, they served together, and there is something so special about walking through this whole thing together as a church.”

As you embark on this year-long Bible reading, the Chronological Bible Journey podcast can prove to be an invaluable companion on your journey and help provide context, commentary, flexibility, and accountability. With insightful reflections, easy accessibility, and the ability to build a sense of community, the podcast makes reading through the Chronological Bible a more enriching experience. It’s a tool that not only helps you stay on track but also transforms the way you experience the Word of God.
