Motherhood. This word can stir various emotions and feelings within each of us–joy, grief, excitement, anticipation, love, and more. We may even carry more than one emotion regarding motherhood and Mother’s Day. No matter who you are, we want to celebrate and walk alongside you this year as you celebrate the wonderful mothers in your life.
Whether you are a mother, grandmother, an expectant mother, a mother to a heavenly child, a mother-like figure to those in your life, or you desire to be a mother but are struggling with infertility, this blessing is for you. It is our joy to celebrate and honor you today.
Thank you. Thank you for your presence in our lives and the sacrifices you make that demonstrate God’s love that lives in your heart. Thank you for all the ways in which you show up for us. As we face life’s challenges, you face them alongside us, offering encouragement and support and pushing us to honor God with our lives. Thank you for teaching us to love Jesus–the one who first loved us. Thank you for loving us in the good and the bad times.
In a world where it is easy to compare yourself to others and feel you fall short of what a mother “should” be, we pray you are filled with the joy and peace of Jesus as He reminds us that His grace is sufficient in all of our weaknesses (2 Corinthians 12:9).
While today can stir in us the greatest joy or the deepest pain, we pray you know how loved and celebrated you are by our heavenly Father. Today and every day, we thank Him for the gift that you are.
